We’d taken a Hop-on/Hop-off tour that took us to the Fukuoka Garden, a Japanese Garden for Auckland’s, and Lakeside Park, a massive park that surrounds a lake. While both places involve a central body of water surrounded by landscaped grounds, they couldn’t be more different.

Isn’t this little guy adorable? He’s part of the Australian Walkabout at the San Diego Zoo’s Safari Park. We finally made it there and this is a very well done exhibit. The Monarch Cove Inn is next to the butterfly fields in Capitola and there are several gardens on the grounds, including this one with succulents. It’s a great place to stay for a few days! The view from Casa Romantica is stunning, but the Casa Romantica courtyard is also amazing.
