Inside Thurston Lava Tube
If you ever have the chance to get to Volcano’s National Park, be sure to walk through the Thurston Lava Tube. This is an amazing experience. It’s not the easiest trek because there are steps and rough surfaces. The distance is only about a third of a mile, but it can take thirty minutes to make the full circle. There’s a lot to see and photos to take! The lava tube was discovered in 1913 by Lorrin Thurston, a local newspaper publisher. Although the lava stalactites that hung from the ceiling have long since been stolen by visitors, the tube is still an amazing place to visit. It’s also a good lesson about visiting natural wonders. Don’t take away even a small part, or someday there will be nothing left.

During our little back country tour, we came across this stream. What a peaceful place!
Everyone loves a good splash so here's one from the shore at Lapahoehoe on the Big Island.
You can plan the trip, book the helicopter, have the camera, but can't control the weather. We had clouds and rain on our Big Island tour, but it was a blast anyway!
The park at Laupahoehoe on the Big Island is right on the water. The locals hang out here with good reason. Check out those gorgeous views.
