Friday Fotos – looking mauka from Kokee Park

This photo was taken during our May 2011 trip to Kauai’s Kokee Park. There aren’t a lot of sunny days up there, and it can get downright chilly (for Kauai). But, we were lucky and had a short break in the clouds. It was amazing to see all the way to the ocean from a point so high up and so well known for its rainfall. I can’t recall another trip where we’ve gotten so lucky.

Many of the plants up there are stunted from so much rain. But once the sun comes out — wham, it’s gorgeous!
