I took this gorgeous desert sunrise shot on Christmas morning in Palm Desert. The wind was blowing just enough to make this a very chilly wait for the sun, but when I saw the colors, I knew it would be worth the wait.

Located on the southwest side of Kaua‘i near the little town of Eleele, this beach doesn’t see a lot of tourist action. It’s comparatively quiet and gets plenty of wind.
