When Attorney Parker Stern’s mother, Harriet, shows up with fugitive Ian Holzner, Parker is shocked. The man is the suspected 1975 Playa Vista bomber. He’s an anti-war radical who was accused of planting a bomb that killed four people. After forty years of hiding, Ian wants to turn himself into the FBI. Harriet is convinced of Ian’s innocence and wants Parker to represent him, but in order to persuade Parker, Harriet has to disclose a shocking secret . . . Ian Holzner is the father Parker has never known.
Trial preparation has Parker joining forces with Attorney Lovely Diamond and private investigator Moses Dworsky, who helped implicate Holzner in the original trial. Parker is successful in getting Holzner released into his care until the trial is over. But, while Parker is posting bail, Holzner stages an impromptu press conference on the courthouse steps. With the media present, a bomb explodes inside the building.
Lovely and Parker dig through the previous case files looking for anything that will keep Holzner from a death sentence. Witnesses are reluctant to help and Parker suspects Dworsky may purposely be withholding information. As Parker uncovers discrepancies, including possible fraudulent testimony, witnesses critical to keeping Holzner off death row are being murdered.
With his financial and personal future on the line, Parker must figure out whether Holzner or someone else is behind the attacks and expose the truth behind the 1975 bombing.
“The Bomb Maker’s Son” is an extraordinary thriller that takes the reader on a journey of discovery and heartbreaking truths while solving the mysteries of current and decades old terrorist attacks. The well thought out plot is smoothly written with plenty of twist and turns right up to the end that keep the reader engaged.
