Sydney Harbour Bridge down under
This photo of the Sydney Harbour Bridge from under the bridge came about almost by accident. We’d taken a hop-on/hop-off tour and were expecting to walk through The Rocks, a trendy area in Sydney filled with quaint shops and restaurants. Before we got off the bus, the driver told everyone that there was a lot of construction going on in the area and that it was disrupting traffic flows. Boy, was that ever true.
We got off the bus and started walking. And walking. And soon realized we had no access to the area we’d intended to visit. Our route took us around Dawes Point, which was about a mile further than we’d expected. Normally, walking a mile wouldn’t have been a problem, but we were feeling lost, hungry, and getting tired because this was at the end of our tour. Looking back, it was a great tour, but at the time—let’s just say we were both getting a little grumpy.
