I’ve done posts before about Kauai’s Pineapple Dump. One of the things I’ve never shown, however, are the Pineapple Dump improvements. Years ago, the surrounding area wasn’t much. A dirt path veered off of the walking/bike path. A chain link fence separated the intrepid from a jump into the ocean. And, there were no signs to indicate what the area was all about.
Then, several years ago, the county upgraded the approach, putting in decorative concrete in place of the dirt, adding informational signs to tell the history of the area, and replacing the chain link fence with something decorative. Overall, it was a terrific facelift for a spot that played an important role in Kauai’s history. I especially love the pineapples in the fence!
