Aloha Kauai — it has been far too long since our last trip

We’ve been going to Kauai in the Spring for many years now. It saddens me, but this year will be an exception. Bringing everyone these Friday Fotos is always nice because it gives me a chance to revisit the islands. Maybe we’ll be able to make it late this year, maybe not until Left Coast Crime in Honolulu in 2017.

A recent trip to Carlsbad for a morning walk reminded me of how much I miss seeing and hearing the ocean. Since Kauai will not be in the cards for at least a few months, I’m determined to visit our local beach. The water here is far more chilly and the days not quite as nice, but they’re here and we can do that until the next time when we say, “Aloha Kauai, we’ve missed you!”

    Everybody needs a special place, a place they can dream of, a place where they can have a mental ‘ahhh’ when thinking of it, even if they’re thousands of miles away, the way Kauai is for you.
