The Walk brought us into contact with a bunch of animals this morning. . .another beached seal, several dogs and their owners, and our usual assortment of ducks, swans, chickens and one turtle. I’ve also been reminded that I haven’t mentioned “the cat” that appears in my second novel, Photo ID. Well, here goes. He’s an orange tabby, slim build, on the youngish side and has a distinct lack of modesty. He’s largely disinterested in much of anything other than his personal grooming and seems to prefer one of those exceedingly annoying (and for cat owners who have visiting company—exceedingly embarrassing) positions in which the rear leg is foisted high in the air and the cat proceeds to clean a part of the anatomy that is best left unexposed or unmentioned.
Okay, so about that duck. We get lots of visitors coming to our lanai. This one is one of the more colorful little guys. I’m not exactly sure what type of duck he is, but he’s been around for several years. He didn’t get food, but he did kind of like the attention. As you can see, he posed nicely for this shot.
The rest of the day was spent taking care of condo duties; actually buying the ceiling fan and kitchen faucet we’re going to install before we leave. There’s lots of other stuff, but it’s all BORING!
