California poppies at Buena Vista Park

The wildflowers, even the California poppies, were everywhere during my recent visit to Buena Vista Park in Vista, CA. My timing was perfect because, in a couple of months, the park’s two miles of hiking and biking trails won’t be nearly as colorful.

Bataquitos Lagoon wildflowers in bloom

Maybe you’ve heard about California’s rainfall this year—record year, flooding, road closures, etc.. But there is good news. Wildflowers. We’re being treated this year to what’s called a superbloom. We saw it at Bataquitos Lagoon, where the wildflowers were fully blooming.
