The Google Voice Verification Code scam is new to me. By now, most of us are familiar with authentication codes sent by websites to confirm our identity. Leave it to the scammers, however, to find a way to use that to their advantage.

The Amazon Impersonator scam is raking in big bucks for scammers. About one in three victims of impersonator scams report that the person who contacted them claimed to be from Amazon. It’s reported that from July 2020 to June 2021, scammers made $27 million off of this one.

Looking through my inbox, I saw a message from a very familiar address—mine. My first thought when I saw the email was that someone was spoofing my address, so I looked closer. But the closer I looked, the more it appeared someone had hacked my email. With that, I went into research mode, and discovered a clever twist in an email extortion scam.
