I’ve said before that we liked to walk the beach on Kaua‘i whenever we were there. On this particular trip, the jellyfish had invaded the East side of the island. Nukoli‘i Beach was filled with jellyfish and—since we were walking barefoot—the trip became one of nearly constant jellyfish alerts.
The tricky part became when the surf would wash in a new batch of these little guys. At that point, we had to retreat to higher ground until the water moved out, along with the little creatures. This was one of the larger jellies we found. They ranged in size from very tiny to guys several inches across. The big ones were easy to spot, the small ones, not so much.
