When we visited Kauai each year, Lydgate Park was one of our favorite places to go for morning walks. There was always a bit of everything there—a paved walking path, tropical breezes, and a beautiful beach. All those elements combined to create beautiful views like the one in today’s Sunny Kauai morning jigsaw puzzle.
This puzzle is the third in this month’s series. If you work the puzzle and leave a comment that includes your time, you’ll be entered into a drawing for a $5.00 Starbucks gift card at the end of the month. Be sure to check next week’s Friday Morning Post, where I’ll announce the average and best times.

Photo of the Week – a sunny Kauai morning
This photo for this Sunny Kauai morning jigsaw puzzle was taken in 2012. As usual, we were out early and drove to Lydgate Beach Park for our walk. While passing this stand of trees bordered the walking path, I noticed the sun glinting through the trees and decided the shot was too good to pass up.
Lydgate Beach Park is on Kauai’s east side just south of the Wailua River. Because the park faces east, it has some of the best sunrises on the island. The beach is great for walking, there’s a playground for the keiki, and it’s a perfect place for beginners to learn to snorkel.
