I took this photo during our stay near the Hilton Hawaiian Village for Left Coast Crime in 2017. Each day, I had the pleasure of walking by this planter filled with peace lilies. They somehow seem to lighten the mood no matter what’s going on. Of course, during a week of being at a conference (in Hawaii, no less) there wasn’t much that could dampen the mood.
One thing I didn’t realize is that peace lilies aren’t true lilies, and they’re also slightly toxic to humans and dogs. I’m glad I didn’t stop for a snack! On the flip side, these can also help purify the air in your home. Here’s an article from National Geographic about plants that can help clean up your household air.
