Pow! Wow! More Honolulu wall art photos.
In last week’s post, I featured seven murals we saw on our 2019 Hop On/Hop Off tour of Honolulu. This week I’m featuring another set of murals from that same tour. In a bad news/good news sort of story, most of these murals may be gone, but those that are no longer around have been replaced by new wall art.
Each year, Pow! Wow! Hawaii invites artists from all over the world to come to Hawaii and paint. Some of those artists come back year after year, but one thing remains the same—their artwork is breathtaking. I can barely draw a straight line on a sheet of paper, but these artists work on canvases that are massive. The locations of each year’s all art are documented at http://www.powwowworldwide.com/festivals/hawaii/. If you visit the Pow! Wow! Website, check out the interactive map. It shows all the locations for the artwork along with images for the artwork.
From serious to whimsical, I loved these examples from the 2019 Pow! Wow! and hope the tradition continues. I hope you like these examples because they provide a wonderful way to liven up our cities.
