Foster Botanical Garden Gazebo
One of the gems we found during our Hop On/Hop Off tour of Honolulu was this gazebo at Foster Botanical Garden. Located in Honolulu, these gardens are a wonderful retreat from the surrounding city. We were amazed at how peaceful it was once we entered.
We’d never even heard of the gardens, but they are located on the Red Line and we wanted to make the most of our day, so we got off the trolley and paid the admission. The stop was well worth it, and I’d love to go back.
The Foster Botanical Gardens is actually one of five botanical gardens on O’ahu. The gardens actually began when Queen Kalama leased 4.6 acres to William Hillebrand in 1853. A hundred years later, the gardens have grown to 14.6 acres. I’ll have another photo from the gardens next week!
Did you see last week’s photo of Father Damien at the Hawaii State Capitol? You can find it here. Want to see more photos from our trip? Here’s a link where you can check out all the entries in our travel journal.
