Friday Fotos – Here come the ranunculus!

There are a lot of great things about Carlsbad and one of them is the Carlsbad Flower Fields. The fields, which were Luther Gage in the 1920s. In 1933, Frank Frazee also started growing Ranunculus flowers and introduced his son Edwin to the art of growing seeds. Nearly 100 years later, Edwin is referred to as Mr. Ranunculus.

The fields are only open from March 1 through May 12, so if you want to see this fabulous sight, you’ll have to hurry. When you’re standing in the middle of the flower fields, they seem to go on forever. Also, the Carlsbad Flower Fields light up the hillsides of Carlsbad with their color.
