This foggy Oceanside Pier morning shot was taken in November 2016 on a day when I was hoping to capture the coast during a sunrise. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other ideas. That day, the sun didn’t rise, it more or less just appeared later in the day.
The Oceanside Pier is nearly two-thousand feet long and is actually the sixth pier built in Oceanside. This one, which is a beautiful wooden pier with great lighting, was built in 1987. The previous five piers were all destroyed by heavy storms. Tourists (and locals) flock to the pier on nice days to stroll, fish, and surf, so it’s almost always a busy place, even in the early morning hours.
