Byodo-In Temple Sacred Bell pagoda

This is the pagoda where the Sacred Bell is housed at the Byodo-In Temple. The temple is actually a replica of 11th Century temple in Uji, Japan. The Byodo-In Temple was built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first Japanese immigrants to Hawaii. Here’s a fun fact: the Byodo-In Temple was included in episodes of Magnum, P.I. and the original Hawaii Five-0.

The architecture of the Byodo-In Temple is simply amazing. The attention to detail captures your eye everywhere you look.

Byodo-In Temple was undergoing renovation

One of the workers strols through this section of the Byodo-In Temple. In spots, you can see scaffolding and a ladder.

Byodo-In Lagoon sparkles

I was captivated by the Byodo-In lagoon, which was so serene.

Ariel visits Byodo-In Temple

During our visit to Byodo-In Temple, our little traveling companion Ariel decided to stake out her turf—or should I say statue?

Massive gong at Byodo-In Temple

While we were at the Byodo-In Temple, we often heard a deep, melodic tone. This was the source and any visitor can give it a try!

Lagoon at Byodo-In Temple

Serenity hangs in the air at Byodo-In Temple. Lush grounds are everywhere.

Waterfall onthe grounds at Byodo-In Temple

This waterfall fills the air with the sound of falling water and adds yet more serenity to an idyllic environment.

About the Author

I started out as a skip tracer. Just in case you don’t know, that’s the guy who finds the people who don’t want to be found. It was the little things—getting paid to lie—that made skip tracing the fun part of the job.

Those years of chasing deadbeats taught me many valuable life lessons, such as liars come from all walks of life, and always keep your car in the garage.

You’re right! I’ll bet they took a long time. 🙂
