Ferns growing out of trees

One of the really cool things about a rain forest is where the plants grow. As we walked along the path to the Thurston Lava Tube, all we had to do was look around to see how easily ferns and other plants take root in almost thin air. Very cool place (no pun intended) to be amazed—assuming you’re in the neighborhood!

Liluokalani Gardens in Hilo offer a wonderful place to watch the reflections and to reflect.
I loved this little creek in the middle of Liliuolkalani Park. It was such pretty spot!
