Lone surfer heads out for early morning runs

Getting ready for the morning surf - lone surfer — At Kahanamoku Beach, a surfer takes the long walk across the rocks shortly after first light.

On my first free morning after Left Coast Crime in Honolulu, I went down to Kahanamoku Beach to catch sunrise photos. I was there at first light and so was this lone surfer, who showed up and started the long trek out on the breakwater. Others I saw went into the water right from the shore and paddled out, but this intrepid soul walked his board all the way out.
