McKenna here. For those of you who aren’t familiar with me, I’m the hero in Terry’s new novel, Photo Finish. Terry’s a nice guy, but he’s kinda square around the edges, if you know what I mean. Me, I’m a bit of a grump. I don’t really like being a grump, but that’s another story. And now, to make matters worse, Terry just put on Jimmy Buffett—that just makes me want to get drunk and watch “American Idol” reruns. Sometimes he drives me nuts.
Anyway, the point of this first blog post was to complain about the length of blog posts. Most people write these things with the attitude of “why say in ten words what you can say in fifty?” Don’t they know that my attention span—and probably yours—is around eight seconds? I’m busy. I’ve got stuff to do, like listen to the next song on Terry’s playlist. It’s a nice little Hawaiian tune called “Black Roses” by Inner Circle. I guess he’s trying to “get in the mood”—I just don’t want to know for what.
The professional marketers tell me people like bullet points. Well, I’ll tell you, in Photo Finish, I dodged a bullet and I didn’t like the point it was trying to make at all. So, I don’t get this whole bullet-point thing. Maybe you can explain it to me. If so, great. Drop me a line using Facebook or Twitter or the nifty little form at the bottom of the page. Just do it in ten words, not fifty. Okay?
