Yesterday was April Fool’s Day and, sure enough, someone tried to scam me with an email headline of “The UK Market Draw.” The email told me that over seven million United Kingdom Pounds had been rolled over from their first of the year drawing and that, low and behold, I’d been selected to receive it because I patronized an unnamed web host .
The sender even included an official-looking “Claims Notification” form which, I suppose, was intended to wow me into immediately responding. There was also one of those rather silly advisories, done in red letters telling me that I should delete the email immediately and notify the recipient right away if I wasn’t the person the email was being sent to. Now, if I delete the email, how am I going to notify the recipient?
Thanks, but no thanks. I’ll pass on the seven mil. And the trouble it would bring me in trying to get it.
