J.D. Shaw is the author of two stand-alone Young Adult mysteries, The Secret of Loon Lake and Leave No Footprints. In Leave No Footprints, Shaw  was concerned about what happens when kids run away. She said, “Beth Watson is running away from something horrible. But, she is ill-equipped to handle an outside world she knows nothing about.”
