The day began with a trip to 417 Union. That’s the name of the restaurant and the address. The food’s good, yet there weren’t a lot of people there. In fact, most of the customers appeared to be locals. We’re locals too, just not from here. Anyway, then we made a trip over to Homewood Suites, where they got our room problem resolved. The guy at the desk was very helpful and even was able to upgrade us to a room with a view. It’s a really nice room. And the view . . . it’s a really nice room. Check out “the view” on the right.
So, with our room secured, we went to check out our booth at the convention center. There may be some issues there, but I’ll leave that for another day. We decided to check out the state capitol and one of the museums. That’s the photo gallery below. We just missed the 2PM tour, which had maybe 10-15 people on it. We walked around a bit on our own, then took the 3:00 PM tour . . . it was just us for nearly the entire tour. We even heard about the tornado of 1998 that “ripped the heart out of Tennessee.” You’ll probably hear more about that on Sunday when we do the other museum, where the flag that inpired this saying is on display.
