If you get the chance to walk through, you’ll notice how beautiful the woods are inside Iolani Palace. There’s a richness in every room. From the dark floors to the banisters and doors, the cedar, koa, and kamani woods work together to enhance the atmosphere. Personally, I found myself in awe of the quality of the craftsmanship. A picture can’t do the palace justice, but at least it lets me share the experience to a some degree. In this photo you can see the electric lights that King Kalākaua had installed five years after construction had been completed.
