Big Island waterfalls abound

We found this waterfall while exploring on a back road on our return trip from Laupahoehoe to Hilo. This one was along the old highway, which is seldom used. The trip, though short, took us through areas that were stunning. It was a very nice way to avoid the main highway and the Big Island version of traffic.

Beautiful! I love waterfalls. In my area of NW South Carolina near the Blue Ridge Mountains, we have dozens of beautiful falls, including Whitewater Falls, the longest falls east of the Rockies. Here’s a URL with a picture:
