Onomea Bay on the Big Island

To get to Onomea Bay you must take a windy side road, then walk down an asphalt path to the bay. On the way down, there are several spectacular views. Unfortunately, the day we were there it was very overcast so we had lots of gray. The views were still very impressive and at the bottom where the water from the stream meets the ocean, it’s pure magic.
Just above the bay is the location of a large botanic garden. We didn’t visit the garden, but heard from friends that it is an amazing place. I’m so glad we made the trip down to the bay and would love to go back on a sunny day. Next time, we’ll plan in advance to visit the botanic gardens, too!
