Ants climbing Diamond Head?
Okay, they’re not really ants climbing Diamond Head, they’re people. But look at that line! We were shocked at how many people were trudging along, one after another, toward the top. I’d heard that the trail got very busy later in the day, but I never dreamed there would be this many people. This photo was taken in May 2019, so things have changed considerably since then.
It was partly our own fault—we didn’t get to the trailhead until midday, so we were doomed from the start. If we tackle this trek again, we’ll grab a ride rather than taking the hop on-hop off bus as we did this time. The wonderful tour along the way simply ended up taking way too much time and put us into the thick of it.
