Binding books the old way
When I heard there was a book bindery in Russell, I was excited. As a writer, I was very interested in how books were made back before the days of big presses. Our trip to the bindery was not a disappointment. They gave us a great tour of the bindery and explained the process of binding books the old-fashioned way.
You might call the bindery a case of vertical manufacturing because the process happened on two different floors, with the final steps taking place upstairs. I loved this stop on our trip!
