Waves at Lapahoehoe

Tides hitting the rocks at Lapahoehoe Bay
Mother Nature in all her glory. What a stunning day this was during our 2017 trip to the Big island.

The water at Lapahoehoe, which is on the Big Island north of Hilo, was gorgeous during our trip to this sleepy little spot. We’d been told what a stunning place it was—and that it had been the site of a terrible tragedy involving a hurricane and a small school—and had to go see it. I’m so glad we made the trip.

More from the Big Island archives

Big Island coastline from the air

Here's a shot taken during our helicopter tour of the Big Island last March. What a gorgeous green coastline!

Big Island back country stream

During our little back country tour, we came across this stream. What a peaceful place!

A little Lapahoehoe spash

Everyone loves a good splash so here's one from the shore at Lapahoehoe on the Big Island.

The Jacaranda inn was such a fun place to stay in the Parker Ranch area.

About Terry

I started out as a skip tracer. Just in case you don’t know, that’s the guy who finds the people who don’t want to be found. It was the little things—getting paid to lie—that made skip tracing the fun part of the job.

Those years of chasing deadbeats taught me many valuable life lessons, such as liars come from all walks of life, and always keep your car in the garage.
