I’ve done photos of Kauai’s Pineapple Dump before, and if you’ve seen the cover of “Kauai Temptations,” you’re familiar with the view. This, however, is one of those very cool places on Kaua‘i where you really get away from the hustle and bustle. There are a lot of people using the walking/biking path, but there’s no vehicle traffic, which makes this a relaxing place to visit. As I refocus for 2017, this seems like a very appropriate photo because it signals something special to me—out with the old, in with the new.
The Pineapple Dump was once used by the Hawaiian Pineapple Canning Company to discard pineapple remnants after processing. These days, it’s a historic landmark, a place where Hawaii’s past, present, and future meet. I hope you enjoy the view, it’s fabulous!
