Do you know where your child is right now? With kids heading back to school, many of them armed with their first cell phone to help keep them in touch, parents may want to employ a hi-tech solution to keep tabs on their young ones. One of the advantages today’s cell phones is that their GPS can be used to track the phone’s location. For parents, this feature can spell peace of mind.
There are many options for tracking a phone’s location, but those options all require registration with a service or application. Some of the services are free, while others involve a monthly fee. On Aug. 8, Digital Trends published an article about how to find a phone using the various types of services. Among the services recommended was one called Prey, which allows tracking of smartphones as well as laptops. One of the advantages to this type of service is that it can let you track a phone or laptop, so it can be used as an anti-theft device for your own devices or those used by your child.
