July 2023

It’s hard to believe that we are officially into the second half of 2024. That means there are less than six months until Christmas. Next thing you know, we’ll be seeing Christmas decorations and listening to Jingle Bell Rock. Although, if I’m being honest, I could listen to that song any time of year. In fact, we’ll probably be binging on Hallmark Christmas movies all month long!

Calling all puzzle people!

After a month of testing, it appears that Friday morning jigsaw puzzles are a hit. I’ll be continuing those for at least another month. If they’re still going strong at the end of July, I’ll make them a permanent feature. If you’re a puzzle person, use this link to sign up to receive the Friday Morning Post. You’ll get an email each Friday morning with a new jigsaw puzzle. And during July, every puzzle you complete earns another entry in the July Book & a Latte Contest.

Writing News

July brings me deeper into that long, slow period between books where my efforts are focused on creating the building blocks for the next Seaside Cove Bed & Breakfast Mystery. While this is still very much a work-in-progress, the title might be The Secret Ingredient to Murder because the MacGuffin (the thing that everyone wants to find) is an old family recipe that’s been kept secret for generations. Stay tuned for more!

July Book & a Latte Contest

The winner of the June Book & a Latte Contest was Barbara H, whose time on the Peacock Train jigsaw puzzle was 10 minutes 49 seconds. Congrats, Barbara!

In July, I’ll be running another Book & a Latte contest. This time, you’ll earn one entry for each puzzle that you work on when you leave a comment with your time. You’ll also get a bonus entry (one each week) for helping Rick and Marquetta decide on a name for Baby Atwood. Just leave your favorite name for a baby boy in the comment with your puzzle time. For those who aren’t puzzle people, you can enter by using this link to send me an email. (Only one entry per person with this option.)

July Booklovers Bench Contest

We’re running our June contest over at Booklovers Bench. This month, we're giving away books by Maggie Toussaint and Anna Gerard. Be sure to stop by and enter at bookloversbench.com
