This week's Friday Morning Post takes a deep dive into a chapter of history that seems almost too fantastical to believe. Long before the fields of wheat and the bustling cities we know today, Kansas was submerged under a vast ocean. It was a time when Kansas boasted a lush, marine landscape teeming with life. From majestic sea turtles gliding through the waters to ferocious mosasaurs ruling the depths, Kansas had it all. Join me as we unearth the secrets of these ancient seas and reveal a world far removed from the prairies we see today.
Thanks to everyone who commented on last week's Pikes Peak puzzle! And a special thanks to those of you who told me about your personal experiences with the mountain. I especially liked Laura's comment, who said she'd seen Pikes Peak from the ground and it was so majestic that she could see why it inspired "America the Beautiful."
The best time for last week's puzzle was a speedy 4 minutes 48 seconds. The average time came in at 8 minutes 25 seconds, which was way faster than my 11:42 time! I may be at the back of the pack, but I do enjoy these puzzles. So, on to the next one! |
