Writing News
What a year 2025 turned out to be! After successfully completing my prostate cancer treatments, Kathy and I faced a new challenge when she was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. The roles reversed quickly—I went from being the one needing help to becoming the caregiver. We adjusted our road-trip plans, and while the journey looked different than we'd imagined, we still made it happen.
That experience taught me something important about priorities. Last month, I made the tough decision to step back from my weekly newsletter. Writing those posts was taking time away my other priorities, including crafting the stories I love to tell. It wasn't an easy choice, but it was the right one.
The holidays arrived right after that decision, and I'll admit they swept me off my feet! I'm still finding my rhythm again, but I'm getting there.
Now for the good news: I'm excited to share that the next Seaside Cove Bed & Breakfast Mystery is on track for a spring release! I know the book market has been challenging for many authors over the past year—my sales have definitely felt the pinch. But here's what I know for certain: I have more stories to tell, and I hope to find the readers who want to hear them.
This year, I'm focusing on what I can control: family first, writing books I'm proud of, and bringing you a monthly newsletter to help you avoid scams—just as I've done since 2012. That feels like a pretty good place to start 2026.
