For this second Friday Post of 2025, we're making another stop at a ghost town. This time, we're visiting St. Elmo, CO. And for the post, I thought I'd again do something a bit different. I'm taking you back in time with a news story from the St. Elmo Mountaineer, a newspaper that was in existence during the town's boom years. I hope you enjoy this week's post, which takes us back in time more than a hundred years to a time when miners and gunslingers walked the streets of the Wild West's boomtowns.

Last week's puzzle had a light turnout, which has me wondering about ghost towns. Maybe they're not everybody's thing. I'll take a more modern approach for next week's puzzle. As for last week's, I also can’t thank you enough for your kind words about the story of Bodie—it seems the ghost town telling its own story was a hit! The fastest time on the puzzle was an impressive 6 minutes 10 seconds. The average was 8 minutes 3 seconds, while I pulled up the rear at 12 minutes 41 seconds.
